Salary Range: $55k – $80K

 

The Role

Edway Labour Hire is continuously looking for Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanics for our clients and we currently have several positions available in NSW and VIC. The ideal candidate is responsible for installing, setting up, testing, finding fault, repairing and maintaining refrigeration systems and equipment that apply to food storage and preservation, air conditioning and air distribution equipment in buildings and premises.

 Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Participate in refrigeration and air conditioning work and competency development activities
  • Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
  • Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components
  • Fix and secure electro technology equipment
  • Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications
  • Document and apply measures to control OHS risks associated with electro technology work
  • Prepare and connect refrigerant tubing and fittings
  • Establish the basic operating conditions of vapour compression systems
  • Establish the basic operating conditions of air conditioning systems
  • Install refrigerant pipe work, flow controls and accessories
  • Install air conditioning and refrigeration systems, major components and associated equipment
  • Recover, pressure test, evacuate, charge and leak test refrigerants

 

General Requirements:

  • Years of Experience: 1-2 years of relevant practical professional experience
  • Education: At least a certificate level of Education
  • Reporting skills, Attention to detail
  • technical aptitude
  • good hand eye co-ordination
  • good fitness, with an ability to lift heavy pieces of equipment
