The Role

Edway Labour Hire is continuously looking for Early Childhood Teachers for our clients and we currently have several positions available in NSW and VIC. As Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for the provision of the child focused program within an environment that is conducive to children’s development and wellbeing and responsive to their individual needs.

 

Some of the key responsibilities include: 

  • Develop, implement and evaluate a stimulating educational program for children which provides for individuals and the whole group. Information regarding the program is to be displayed for families; and evaluated regularly to ensure it is reflective of children’s current needs and interests
  • Teach children concepts and skills relevant to the children’s lives, interests and needs
  • Provide opportunities for the children, families, other staff and the wider community to contribute to educational program development and implementation
  • Facilitate each individual child’s involvement in program experiences whilst allowing for child initiated play
  • Maintain developmental records for each individual child, including observations of learning, assessments of children’s learning and development; and goals for future learning
  • Work with other specialist professionals to implement any recommendations/strategies for individual children as appropriate
  • Complete transition statements for each child and support effective and meaningful transition processes for each child
  • Ensure the provision of a healthy, safe and welcoming environment for children
  • Assist with the preparation, cleaning and packing away of learning experiences
  • Respectfully attend to the individual needs of children

General Requirements:

  • Years of Experience: 2-3 years of relevant practical professional experience
  • Education: At least a degree level of qualification
  • Sound knowledge of early childhood development and education
  • An understanding of current research, theories and best practice models in early childhood Ability to develop, implement and evaluate high quality early childhood programs
  • Effective and respectful communication, both written and verbal
  • Effective skills in utilizing digital information and communication technology
  • Motivation and commitment to the provision
